Jamie Redknapp talks up Eden Hazard partnership with Chelsea FC signing
The Liverpool FC legend is impressed with Eden Hazard's growing partnership with Chelsea FC signing Olivier Giroud
Jamie Redknapp believes Eden Hazard has already struck up a positive partnership with Chelsea signing Olivier Giroud.
The France international moved to the defending Premier League champions in a £21m deal from Arsenal on transfer deadline day last month.
Giroud was brought in to bolster Chelsea’s attacking options ahead of the final half of the 2017-18 season.
The 31-year-old made an assist for Hazard in the first half of Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over West Brom at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.
The French centre-forward opened his Chelsea account in a 4-0 win against Championship side Hull City in the FA Cup fifth round.
Former Liverpool FC midfielder Redknapp has been impressed with the blossoming understanding between Giroud and Hazard.
“His [Hazard’s] levels are so high. He has a relationship with Giroud,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“You can see they have an understanding [already].”
Chelsea FC were forced to settle for a 1-1 stalemate with Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Tuesday night.
Argentina international Lionel Messi cancelled out Willian’s opener at Stamford Bridge mid-week.
Chelsea have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Antonio Conte.
The Blues finished seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the 2017-18 season.
