Chelsea FC warned about summer transfer business
Paul Ince warns that Chelsea FC's drop in form could affect their summer transfer plans
Paul Ince has warned Chelsea FC that top quality players are likely to favour moves to Manchester United or Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
The west London side have suffered a dramatic slump in form in recent weeks after a miserable run of results in the Premier League.
Chelsea FC suffered a shock 3-0 loss to Bournemouth in front of their home fans earlier this month before being thrashed 4-1 by Watford at Vicarage Road last Monday night.
The poor form has put intense pressure on Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge and it remains to be seen whether the Italian manager will still be in charge of the west London club come the start of next season.
And former Manchester United star Ince feels that the Blues’ dip in form is going to affect their ability to attract the top players in the summer transfer window.
Speaking to Paddy Power, Ince said: “Conte has made it clear that he’s not happy with the club’s transfer dealings this season.
“But I’m afraid that’s just the way it is – the top players are always going to go to top clubs. Why would they go to Chelsea over Man United or Man City?”
Chelsea FC will look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they host West Bromwich Albion in front of their home fans at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
The Blues won the Premier League title last season but they did not have the distraction of European football last term in Conte’s first campaign in charge.
