Antonio Conte drops hint about Alvaro Morata ahead of Chelsea FC v FC Barcelona
Antonio Conte hints that he is planning for Alvaro Morata to start for Chelsea FC against Real Madrid
Antonio Conte has hinted that he is planning to start Alvaro Morata for Chelsea FC’s crunch Champions League showdown against FC Barcelona at Stamford Bridge next week.
The west London side are currently gearing up for the first leg of their crucial Champions League last 16 clash against the La Liga giants in west London on Wednesday night.
Morata has been gradually working his way back to full fitness for the west London side after having been injured with a niggling back injury in recent weeks.
The 25-year-old has been settling in well to life at Chelsea FC since his move from Real Madrid in the summer, and he has netted 10 goals in the Premier League so far.
The player himself is likely to be desperate to start when the Blues host FC Barcelona next week.
Now, Conte has hinted that the striker could well be in line to feature for the west London side when they take on the La Liga giants next week.
Speaking at a news conference before the clash in the FA Cup with Hull City on Friday night, Conte said: “Morata started training with us last week, from Saturday.
“Now he’s training with regularity. Tonight is another good step for him to prepare himself for the Barcelona game, then I have to make the best decision for the starting 11.
“All of the players in my squad are playing. There are none who are staying out and not playing for a long period.
“For me, it’s a necessity to make the rotations, I’m not worried because I count on all of them, every player in my squad.”
Morata has renewed competition for a starting spot up front for Chelsea after the Blues signed Olivier Giroud from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
