Chris Sutton believes that the criticism aimed at Chelsea FC manager Antonio Conte this season has been unjustified.

The Blues boss has found himself under pressure at Stamford Bridge, with the west London side having struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League.

Chelsea FC are now in fourth place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification in Conte’s second campaign in charge at the west London side.

The west London side are currently preparing for their crunch clash against FC Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.

And former Chelsea FC forward Sutton feels that the criticism that has been aimed Conte’s way this season has been completely unjustified.

Speaking to BT Sport, Sutton said: “I don’t think it’s been that bad a season for Chelsea, I really don’t.

“They’re fourth in the Premier League. Let’s get it right, it’s the FA Cup that’s most winnable for them.”

Chelsea FC head into the first leg of their clash against FC Barcelona after having booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup thanks to a 4-0 win over Hull City at Stamford Bridge.

The west London side are aiming to go one step further in the FA Cup this season after having reached the final last term before ending up as runners-up to Arsenal back in May last year.
