The Spanish giants are rumoured to be in the market to sign a world-class goalkeeper in the summer transfer window following a forgettable domestic campaign for Zinedine Zidane and his squad.
Real Madrid are in fourth place in La Liga and 19 points behind runaway leaders Barcelona following six stalemates and four defeats in their opening 21 games.
Los Blancos have been regularly linked with a move to sign the Manchester United shot stopper since his emergence as the Premier League’s best goalkeeper over the past three or four seasons.
Courtois replaced De Gea at Atletico Madrid on loan from Chelsea FC when the Spain international moved to Manchester United in 2011.
The Belgian returned to Chelsea FC in 2014 and the Blues goalkeeper has helped the west London side to win two Premier League titles and the League Cup.
However, his former partner and their two children still live in the Spanish capital to provide the 25-year-old with an added incentive to return to Madrid.
Stoke City midfielder Adam believes Courtois is a more feasible Real Madrid signing than De Gea this summer.
“I think there is more chance of Courtois going to Real Madrid than De Gea,” Adam told The Debate on Sky Sports.
