Paul Merson is fully expecting to see Chelsea FC get back to winning ways in the Premier League by beating West Brom 3-0 in front of their home fans on Monday night.

The Blues head into the game after having suffered a dramatic dip in form in recent weeks to heap pressure on Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

The west London side lost 3-0 to Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge before slumping to a shock 4-1 defeat by Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday last week.

The miserable run of results has left Chelsea FC scrapping for a top-four finish in the Premier League as Conte bids to try and at least guide his team into the Champions League for next season.

However, former Arsenal star Merson is tipping the Blues to get their campaign back on track by beating the Baggies at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said: “Chelsea need to win, they just need to win. That’s what it has come to now. You looked at the Bournemouth and Watford games and thought there are six points to cement the top four and concentrate on Barcelona in the Champions League.

“Now you’ve got fixtures of Barca, Man Utd, Man City, Barca after West Brom – it could all go Pete Tong very quickly. If they don’t win, you don’t see how they’re going to finish in the top four with the games coming up.

“Alan Pardew is going to put 10 behind the ball, and keep it very tight for 20 minutes and hope the fans get restless.

“They’ll look at what Bournemouth did, but without the same pace on the counter-attack I don’t see how they can hurt Chelsea.”

Chelsea FC will take on FC Barcelona for a place in the Champions League quarter-finals later this month.

The Blues won the Premier League title in style in Conte’s first campaign at the club last term but the west London side did not have the distraction of European football back then.
