Chris Sutton has admitted that he would much rather watch Liverpool than Manchester United.
Jurgen Klopp’s side moved to within two points of second-placed Manchester United following a dramatic weekend in the Premier League.
Former Liverpool FC boss Rafael Benitez managed to mastermind Newcastle United’s 1-0 win against Manchester United at St James’ Park on Sunday.
The Red Devils are in second place in the table but 16 points behind runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Liverpool FC eased to a comfortable 2-0 win at Southampton in the Premier League’s late kick-off on Sunday thanks to goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
The Merseyside outfit have scored 61 times in 27 games in the Premier League this season, which is 10 goals more than Manchester United.
Asked to predict where Liverpool FC and Manchester United will finish in the table in the current campaign, Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live:
“Liverpool won’t catch Man City.
“They are right behind Man United [in second].
“If you had to watch Liverpool or Man United, you’d pick Liverpool because of their style of play.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term and two places above Manchester United.
