Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Crystal Palace v Tottenham
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to claim all three points with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to claim all three points with a 2-0 win when they travel to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Lilywhites head into the game looking for a victory to boost their hopes of finishing in the top four this season under Mauricio Pochettino.
The north London side are currently in fifth place in the table heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures, but they are just one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea FC, who head to Manchester United on Sunday.
Tottenham have won three and drawn two of their last five Premier League games as they look to try and climb the table and break back into the top four before the season is out.
And former Liverpool FC star Lawrenson is fully expecting to see the Lilywhites claim all three points when they travel to Selhurst Park in the top flight on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Crystal Palace have only taken two points from their past four league games, a run that has seen them slip back down towards the relegation zone, and they are only one point clear of trouble.
“I don’t think Palace’s poor form will improve here, either.
“Spurs have been in impressive form in the Premier League and Champions League against some very strong opposition and if they continue playing like that then they will be too strong for the Eagles.”
Tottenham’s next game is their FA Cup fifth-round replay clash against Rochdale at Wembley on Wednesday night next week.
Spurs were Chelsea FC’s closest challengers for the title last season as they ended up second in the table.
