Cesar Azpilicueta predicts FC Barcelona v Chelsea FC
Cesar Azpilicueta looks ahead to Chelsea FC's clash with FC Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League
Cesar Azpilicueta has warned his Chelsea FC team-mates that they will have to play a “perfect” game if they want to beat FC Barcelona to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The Blues took the lead in the first leg at Stamford Bridge last week but were pegged back when Lionel Messi netted an equaliser in the second half to earn the Spanish side a crucial away goal.
Chelsea FC will travel to Camp Nou for the return leg on 14 March as they look to try and somehow beat the La Liga leaders and secure their place in the last eight.
However, Azpilicueta has conceded that the Blues will have to be at their absolute best if they want to have any chance of progressing by beating the Spanish giants.
Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website, Azpilicueta said: “The away goal obviously gives them a small advantage because with a 0-0 they go through, but it is what it is.
“There is still a lot to play for and it will be an interesting game, we know it’s going to be tough but our performance showed what we are capable of doing and we will try our best to qualify.
“We have to play a perfect game, we know we are playing against very good players in a tough stadium but we are confident and we will try to qualify.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues head into the game desperately looking to try and get their Premier League form back on track, with Antonio Conte’s men currently fourth and just a point ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title under Conte last season but have struggled to find consistent form this term.
