Jose Mourinho told 24-year-old becoming Man United leader
Chris Waddle believes Paul Pogba is becoming a real talisman in the Manchester United team
Paul Pogba is starting to look like a leader in the Manchester United team, according to Chris Waddle.
The France international has endured a stop-start season due to problems with fitness and suspension.
The 24-year-old has scored three goals and has made nine assists in 15 games in the Premier League this term.
The versatile midfielder was particularly impressive in Manchester United’s 2-0 win at Everton last month.
The Manchester United club record signing struggled badly in a 2-0 loss to top-six rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
Indeed, Pogba appeared to get into a heated debate with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho on the touchline during the defeat.
The 20-time English champions returned to winning ways on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, former Spurs midfielder Waddle believes Pogba is developing into a real leader in the Manchester United team.
“He is getting better and better. He is starting to look like a leader in the team,” Waddle told Irish radio station Newstalk.
Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table but a staggering 13 points behind current leaders Manchester City.
The Red Devils will take on La Liga side Sevilla in the Champions League round of 16 next month.
Alexis Sanchez was the only new arrival at Manchester United in the January transfer window.
