Gary Neville: This 25-year-old attacker is perfect for Liverpool FC
The Man United legend admits he has been surprised by Mohamed Salah's incredible start to his Liverpool FC career
Gary Neville believes Mohamed Salah is perfect for Liverpool FC.
The Egypt international moved to the Merseyside outfit in a £39m deal from Premier League rivals Southampton back in the summer transfer window.
Salah hit the ground running with a goal on his debut in a 3-3 draw with Watford at Vicarage Road and the African forward hasn’t looked back in the 2017-18 campaign.
The 25-year-old momentarily moved level on 21 goals with Harry Kane at the top of the goal-scoring charts after Salah broke the deadlock in the third minute.
The ex-Chelsea winger went on to score what appeared to be a sensational winner in the 91st minute when the Egyptian managed to evade three defenders before lifting his finish over Hugo Lloris.
Kane rescued a point for Spurs with a controversial penalty in the fourth minute of added time to move one goal clear of Salah.
Former Manchester United defender Neville described Salah as the perfect player for Liverpool FC following his prolific start to life at Anfield.
“I don’t think anyone could have expected the impact he has had here,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“The improvement he has made, he is perfect for Liverpool in terms of how Jurgen Klopp plays, with the runs in behind.”
Salah has scored 21 goals in 26 games in the Premier League this season following his summer switch from AS Roma.
The Liverpool FC winger has also netted five times in six Champions League group-stage fixtures.
