Garth Crooks claims Mohamed Salah is at same level as Liverpool FC legend
The Spurs legend claims Mohamed Salah is in the same category as Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish and John Barnes
Mohamed Salah is in the same class as Liverpool FC legend Kenny Dalglish, according to Garth Crooks.
The Egypt international completed a £39m move to Liverpool FC from Serie A giants AS Roma last summer.
The 25-year-old endured a difficult eight-month spell at Chelsea FC before his move to the Italian top flight in 2014.
Salah, though, has wasted no time leaving his mark at Anfield following a return of 22 goals in 26 games in the Premier League.
The African forward has netted 29 times in all competitions to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s best players.
Former Spurs striker Crooks believes Salah is establishing an Anfield legacy, adding that the summer signing is in the same class as Dalglish.
“There is just no stopping Mo Salah at the moment,” Crooks told BBC Sport.
“He made Liverpool’s first goal against Southampton and scored the second, and that was before half-time. He looks imperious in that Liverpool strip.
“I’ve seen Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish and John Barnes generate extraordinary hysteria at Anfield and it looks like Salah is in that class. I’m not sure who is enjoying his performances more, the player or the Liverpool fans.”
Liverpool FC were 2-0 winners against Southampton last weekend courtesy of goals from Roberto Firmino and Salah.
The Reds are two points behind second-placed Manchester United in pursuit of a Champions League spot.
