Jurgen Klopp reassured Liverpool FC signing will prove ‘big hit’ at Anfield
Spurs legend Garth Crooks is confident Virgil van Dijk will prove a successful Liverpool FC signing

Virgil van Dijk will be a big hit at Liverpool FC despite a difficult start at Anfield, according to Garth Crooks.
The Netherlands international completed a move to Liverpool FC from Premier League rivals Southampton in a club record £75m deal in the January transfer window.
Liverpool FC made Van Dijk the most expensive defender in the world following his big-money move to the Merseyside club following months of transfer speculation.
The Dutch centre-half scored on his Anfield debut with the winner in a 2-1 victory over Everton in the FA Cup third round.
However, Van Dijk was guilty of making a mistake in Liverpool FC’s 1-0 loss to Swansea City and their 2-2 stalemate with Tottenham Hotspur.
But the January signing impressed in Liverpool FC’s 2-0 win last weekend on his return to his former club Southampton.
Ex-Spurs forward Crooks is backing Van Dijk to prove a big success at the 18-time English champions.
“It has not been an easy baptism for Virgil van Dijk, but he is going to be a big hit at Liverpool, I have no doubt,” Crooks told BBC Sport.
“To go back to your old club and provide such an assured performance as he did against Southampton speaks volumes about the mental capacity of this accomplished defender.”
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
The Reds appointed Jurgen Klopp as Brendan Rodgers’ successor back in October 2015.
