Reported Liverpool FC target replies to claims he’s asked for transfer
Reported Liverpool FC transfer target Jack Butland insists that he is completely focused on Stoke City
Jack Butland has insisted that he has not asked for a transfer away from Stoke City as he continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool FC.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper has been touted as a target for the Reds as Jurgen Klopp looks to find a long-term solution to his goalkeeping conundrum at Anfield.
Liverpool FC boss Klopp has struggled to decide between Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet as his first choice between the posts this season.
However, Butland took to social media this week to deny claims that he had asked to leave Premier League strugglers Stoke City.
Butland wrote on Twitter: “Before this spreads any further, I haven’t told the club I want to leave, I’m focused on doing everything I can to keep the club in this division!”
Liverpool FC are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the speculation begins to pick up ahead of the summer transfer window.
It remains to be seen whether the Reds will make a move to sign some attacking reinforcements in the summer after they agreed to the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona last month.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their home clash against West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday 24 February.
The Reds are currently in fourth place in the table as they chase Champions League qualification for the second season running under Klopp.
