Liverpool FC ready to try and sign quality 25-year-old from rivals – report
Liverpool FC are ready to try and make a move to sign Jack Wilshere from Arsenal in the summer, say reports
Liverpool FC are ready to try and make a move to sign Jack Wilshere from Arsenal if he rejects a new contract with the Gunners, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Reds are monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation at The Emirates as the clock ticks down on his current contract with the Gunners.
Wilshere has been in great form for Arsenal this season since breaking back into the first team under Arsene Wenger this term and he will be hoping to extend his stay at The Emirates.
The midfielder’s current deal is due to expire at the end of this season, and most Arsenal fans are expecting him to sign a new contract before the summer.
However, the report in the Sun is claiming that Liverpool FC are ready to “pounce” to try and sign the England midfielder.
The same story says Arsenal are locked in talks to try and get the midfielder to commit to a new contract at The Emirates.
However, the Gunners are said to be proposing a cut to his £90,000 a week wages with the north London side due to the midfielder’s poor injury record.
Liverpool FC have already snapped up one Arsenal star this season after completing the transfer of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from the Gunners on deadline day back in August.
