Jamie Carragher is fully expecting to see Liverpool FC finish in the top four this season.

The Reds have been in decent form in the top flight this term in what is Jurgen Klopp’s second full campaign in charge of the Merseyside outfit.

Klopp watched his side secure a 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night to move up into third place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification for the second season running under the German manager.

Liverpool FC are at least aiming to finish in the top four again this term as they bid to win a place in next season’s Champions League.

Carragher feels that the Reds are well placed to secure a top-four finish, although he admits that their task would have been easier if they had kept hold of Philippe Coutinho at Anfield.

Speaking on The Debate on Sky Sports, Carragher said: “I don’t think they’re in better position [to finish in top four].

“I still think Liverpool FC will finish in top four but they had a better chance with Coutinho.”

Liverpool FC will look to progress through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League later this month when they take on FC Porto in the last 16 across two legs.

The Reds were dumped out of the FA Cup by West Brom last weekend, meaning that the Champions League is their last remaining hope of a trophy this term.
