The Brazilian striker has been a regular fixture in the starting line up for Jurgen Klopp’s men so far this term and has been earning plenty of praise for his performances.
Firmino has scored 11 goals and made five assists in the Premier League this season to help Klopp’s side up into third place in the table.
The attacker is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top attacking talents and former Liverpool FC defender has been hugely impressed with his performances this term.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher said: “Firmino has been a revelation this season.
“I actually think he is one of the most underrated players in the Premier League.
“He has always been Liverpool’s number one striker but what he has been adding is the goals.
“He can actually match up to the other strikers now goals-wise and still bring all the other stuff that he brings.”
Firmino will be expecting to feature for Liverpool FC when the Reds return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon with a trip to St Mary’s to take on Southampton.
Klopp’s men head into that game looking to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-2 draw against Tottenham at Anfield last weekend.
The Merseyside outfit are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification for the second season running under Klopp.
The Reds will take on FC Porto in the last 16 of the Champions League later this month.
