Jamie Carragher: There’s no one like this Liverpool FC star
Jamie Carragher talks up the importance of Roberto Firmino to the Liverpool FC team
Jamie Carragher believes that there is no one like Roberto Firmino in the current Liverpool FC team as he talked up the importance of the Brazilian.
The attacker has been in great form for the Reds this season as he bids to help the Merseyside outfit finish as high as possible in the Premier League table.
The Brazil international has scored 11 goals and made five assists for his team-mates in the Premier League this season and has been earning plenty of praise for his strong displays.
There have been suggestions that Liverpool FC could be on the lookout for a new striker this summer after the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
However, Liverpool FC legend Carragher feels that Firmino is too important to the Reds team for Jurgen Klopp to ever look for an out-and-out replacement.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher said: “Even without the goals, I don’t think Klopp would ever look to replace Firmino.
“If Harry Kane gets 40 goals and Firmino gets 20, he would still be one of – if not the first – name on the team sheet because of what he does off the ball.
“Klopp appreciates all of the extra things that Firmino brings to this Liverpool team that nobody else can.”
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Southampton in the top flight.
The Reds are looking to get back to winning ways in the top flight after they were held to an exciting 2-2 draw by Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield last weekend.
Liverpool FC will take on FC Porto in the Champions League last 16 later this month.
