Danny Ings sends message to Liverpool FC fans about Roberto Firmino
Danny Ings admits that Roberto Firmino has been acting as an inspiration for him this season at Liverpool FC
Danny Ings has admitted that he has been drawing inspiration from Roberto Firmino’s tireless playing style for Liverpool FC in recent weeks.
The Brazilian attacker has been earning plenty of praise for his strong performances for the Reds this term and he has been earning a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top forward talents.
The 26-year-old has scored 20 goals in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s men so far this season as the Reds go for glory in the Champions League and aim to finish in the top four.
Ings has been making his way back to full fitness after a string of serious injuries, and the striker admits that Firmino has been setting a fantastic example for both him and his other team-mates with his attitude this season.
Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, Ings said: “From the moment I started training back with the lads, I tried to learn every day – especially from Bobby.
“He is a fantastic player with the way he plays and the amount of work he does for the team, not just on the ball but off the ball as well.
“They are the things I have to look at and learn from, and that’s what I did over the months I was out.
“Being back training with them every day, you get used to the patterns the manager wants and the intensity he wants. I‘m learning every day from all the lads here and trying to be the best player I can be.”
Liverpool FC are currently enjoying a week off before getting back to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon with a home clash against West Ham United at Anfield.
Klopp’s men are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and finish in the top four for the second season running under the German manager.
