Dejan Lovren: What I think about Liverpool FC signing Virgil van Dijk
Dejan Lovren gives his thoughts on how Virgil van Dijk has been settling in to life at Liverpool FC this season
Dejan Lovren has praised Virgil van Dijk for the way he has been adapting to life at Liverpool FC this season.
The Netherlands defender signed for the Reds in the January transfer window as Liverpool FC paid big money to bring him to Anfield from Southampton.
Van Dijk has been a regular fixture in the Liverpool FC team since his reported £75m move to the Merseyside club and he has been settling in well to life under Jurgen Klopp.
The 26-year-old has already notched up six starts for the Reds in all competitions as he looks to try and bring some much needed stability to the Liverpool FC defence.
And Croatian defender Lovren has said that he has been impressed by the way Van Dijk has been coping with his change of clubs.
Speaking in an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Lovren said: “I think he is doing quite well,” said the Croatian.
“He will do better and better every time (he plays) and he is a top defender.
“It’s still fresh, everything for him is new. We are still adapting to each other.
“He has all the backup from us. We are helping him and we haven’t had many times to play with each other and to be honest only had a couple of training sessions together (before the first game) so it’s still an adaptation.
“But I think we have done it quite well.”
Both Lovren and Van Dijk will be hoping to feature for Liverpool FC when the Reds return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon with a home clash against West Ham United.
Klopp’s side are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification for the second season running under the German manager.
