Liverpool FC are leading Manchester United in the race to sign Deportivo La Coruna winger Pinchi, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Merseyside outfit have moved ahead of the Red Devils in the race to land the 22-year-old winger in the summer transfer window.

The same report says that the Reds have expressed an interest in signing Pinchi in the summer along with both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

But it is now believed to be Jurgen Klopp’s side who are winning the race for his signature ahead of next season.

The same report states that the midfielder’s contract with Deportivo is due to expire at the end of the season, meaning that he would be available for a small compensation fee in the summer.

Pinchi made his La Liga debut last season but he has only been limited to one substitute appearance in the Copa del Rey this season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are currently preparing for the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash against FC Porto in Portugal on Wednesday night.

The Reds were 2-0 winners over Southampton in the Premier League at St Mary’s on Sunday afternoon as they moved to within just two points of second-placed Manchester United.
