The Brazilian attacker has stepped his game up this term and proved himself to be one of the Reds’ most important players, especially since Philippe Coutinho’s exit to Barcelona back in January.
The 25-year-old attacker has scored 12 goals and made six assists in the Premier League so far this season for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
He has also netted seven times and made three assists in seven Champions League games for the Reds so far this term.
Firmino has been stepping his game up in all departments this term and his improvement in his all-round game has not gone unnoticed by Manchester United legend Ferdinand.
Speaking to BT Sport on Wednesday night, Ferdinand said: “In terms of winning the ball back, tackles, mileage run… he’s up there in the top, top tier.”
Firmino and his Liverpool FC team-mates are now set to enjoy a few days off before they return to Premier League action with a home clash against West Ham United at Anfield on 24 February.
The Brazilian found the net along with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah as Liverpool FC claimed a thumping 5-0 win over FC Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday night to take a huge step towards reaching the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.
