Roberto Firmino has insisted that he sees his long-term future at Liverpool FC.

The Brazilian attacker is widely regarded to be one of the finest forward players in the Premier League and he has been earning huge amounts of praise for his strong performances this season.

Firmino has been in top form for the Merseyside outfit, scoring 11 goals and making five assists in 25 Premier League games for the Reds.

He has also netted six times and made three assists in the Champions League for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

There is bound to be plenty of speculation about Firmino’s long-term future at Liverpool FC after the Reds sold his Brazil team-mate Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona back in January.

However, Firmino himself has now looked to pour cold water on speculation that he could be set to quit Anfield any time soon by insisting that he is completely happy at the Merseyside club.

Speaking to Brazilian publication Esporte, Firmino said: “Liverpool are one of the greats in Europe and being able to be part of the history of such a great club is gratifying to me.

“I’m very happy here at Liverpool and I do not see myself out of that club for years to come.

“I believe I am living one of the best phases of my career and I owe much to the trust that the club has placed in me from the beginning.”

Firmino will be expecting to start for Liverpool FC when the Reds take on Southampton at St Mary’s in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Merseyside outfit are aiming to finish in the top four this season for the second season running under Jurgen Klopp.
