Liverpool FC owner’s wife reacts to Firmino, Salah goals at Southampton
Linda Pizzuti takes to Twitter to celebrate Liverpool FC's 2-0 win over Southampton on Sunday afternoon
The wife of Liverpool FC owner John W Henry took to Twitter to single out Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah for special praise after Linda Pizutti watched Sunday’s 2-0 win at Southampton.
The Reds duo have been instrumental in softening the blow of losing Philippe Coutinho in a £142m deal to La Liga giants Barcelona in the January transfer window.
Salah teed up Firmino to break the deadlock at St Mary’s in the sixth minute of the Premier League clash as the Brazilian slotted the ball past Saints goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.
Fresh from scoring his 19th goal of the season in all competitions, Firmino produced a world-class assist to send Salah through on goal before the summer signing guided his finish into the Southampton net.
Salah has now scored 22 Premier League goals this season and has netted 30 times in all competitions in his first season at the Anfield outfit.
John Henry’s partner Pizzuti, who regularly gives her post-match thoughts on social media, praised Firmino and Salah for another devastating performance.
Pizutti wrote on her Twitter page: “Salah to Firmino, then Firmino to Salah for the 2 goals that brought Liverpool 3 points today. And… a clean sheet #ynwa.”
Liverpool FC are in third place in the Premier League table and two points behind Manchester United in the race to secure a place in the Champions League.
The Reds signed Virgil van Dijk in a £75m deal in the January transfer window.
