Gary Neville has named Liverpool FC as “big favourites” to beat Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds will welcome the north London side to Merseyside looking to exact revenge for a 4-1 loss to Spurs at Wembley back in October.

Tottenham ripped apart the Liverpool FC defence at the home of English football with three goals in the opening half four.

Jurgen Klopp was forced to withdraw Croatia international Dejan Lovren in the 32nd minute following their disastrous start.

The Reds went on an 18-game unbeaten run following their Wembley humiliation before a surprise 1-0 loss to Swansea City last month.

Liverpool FC were 3-0 winners against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night and only Premier League leaders Manchester City have scored more goals than Klopp’s men.

Former Manchester United defender Neville believes Liverpool FC’s ability to exploit space behind opposition defences makes them favourites to beat Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.

“I always think Liverpool with the runs behind against teams that do push up do punish you,” Neville told The Debate on Sky Sports on Thursday night.

“Liverpool are big favourites. If Tottenham turn up there is a chance because Liverpool’s defence can let you down.”

Liverpool FC are in third place in the Premier League table but a mere two points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds were 2-0 winners against Spurs in their Premier League meeting at Anfield last season en route to securing a top-four finish.

Liverpool FC signed Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk in the January transfer window.
