Jurgen Klopp replies when asked if Emre Can will leave Liverpool FC
The Liverpool FC boss discusses Emre Can's future at the Anfield outfit
Jurgen Klopp has reiterated he has no update on Emre Can’s future at Liverpool FC.
The Germany international’s future has been a source of relentless debate over the past couple of months.
The versatile midfielder has entered the final six months of his current deal at the 18-time English champions.
Serie A giants Juventus has been linked with a move to sign the 23-year-old midfielder in a free transfer at the end of the 2017-18 season.
Can has established himself as a key member of Klopp’s team since the German coach took over the reins at the Merseyside club in October 2015.
The former Bayern Munich midfielder has scored two goals and has made three assists in 21 appearances in the Premier League this term.
Asked whether Can has given any indication to his long-term plans at Liverpool FC, Klopp told his pre-match media conference on Friday.
“He hasn’t come into my office and said so (that’s he’s joining Juventus),” Klopp said. “Nothing new about that. Still everything is possible. No decision made so far.”
Liverpool FC will make the long trip to Southampton in the Premier League at St Mary’s on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds will take on Portuguese side FC Porto in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool FC ended up in fourth place in the Premier League last term.
