Paul Merson is backing Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur to play out a thrilling 2-2 draw at Anfield in Sunday’s Premier League clash.

Both teams head into the game looking to continue their good form after having won their matches in the Premier League in midweek.

Liverpool FC were comfortable 3-0 winners over Huddersfield Town in the top flight on Tuesday night as they bounced back to winning ways in the Premier League.

Tottenham, meanwhile, produced a brilliant attacking display as they secured a dominant 2-0 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League at Wembley the following day.

Liverpool FC head into the game looking for revenge after they were thrashed 4-1 by Tottenham in the two sides’ last Premier League meeting at Wembley back in October.

However, former Arsenal star Merson is expecting to see the two sides share the spoils at Anfield this weekend in what promises to be a thrilling game.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said: “What a game this one could be. It’s certainly one to look forward to!

“Both teams have a go – they don’t know any other way. It’s difficult to go against Liverpool at home but when you watch Spurs, and they play like they did against United, they were absolutely outstanding.

“The way they passed the ball and moved it around the pitch was exceptional. I’m going to go for goals and a 2-2 draw.

“It’s a difficult game to predict in that you wouldn’t be shocked to see Liverpool win 3-0 but you also wouldn’t be shocked to see Spurs win at Anfield.”

Liverpool FC will take on FC Porto for a place in the Champions League quarter-finals later this month.

The Reds are currently fourth in the table as they chase Champions League qualification for the second season running under Jurgen Klopp.
