Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Liverpool FC v West Ham
Mark Lawrenson looks ahead to Liverpool FC's home clash with West Ham United at Anfield on Saturday
Mark Lawrenson is backing Liverpool FC to claim a 3-0 victory over West Ham United in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds have had a full week off to prepare for the game after having all but booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 5-0 win over FC Porto earlier this month.
Jurgen Klopp is looking to steer his Liverpool FC team to a top-four finish once again after the Reds finished in fourth place in the top flight last term.
Liverpool FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification for the second season running under their German manager.
And former Liverpool FC star Lawrenson is fully expecting to see the Reds claim all three points when they host the Hammers on Merseyside this weekend.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Both teams had last weekend off and Liverpool used their break to head to Marbella for a few days.
“The Reds are unbeaten in the league at Anfield this season and we know how they attack teams in their home games.
“We also know that Liverpool’s front players are in excellent form and I don’t see the West Ham defence coping with them.”
Liverpool FC are still searching for their first piece of silverware since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
The Reds reached the Europa League final in Klopp’s first campaign in charge but they were beaten by Sevilla.
Liverpool FC are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.
