Ex-defender raves about ‘telepathic’ Liverpool FC star after 4-1 win over West Ham
Terry Butcher lavishes praise on Sadio Mane following his strong display in Liverpool FC's 4-1 win over West Ham
Terry Butcher heaped praise on Sadio Mane for his “telepathic” understanding with his Liverpool FC team-mates after Saturday’s 4-1 thrashing of West Ham United at Anfield in the Premier League.
The Reds were in fine form against the Hammers as they secured a dominant win in front of their home fans to move up into second place in the Premier League table.
Emre Can opened the scoring in the 29th minute to make it 1-0 to the home side at half-time.
Mohamed Salah then continued his brilliant form this season by netting in the 51st minute to double the lead of Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Roberto Firmino then added a third for the Reds, before Michail Antonio pulled one back for the visitors shortly after.
However, Sadio Mane then put Liverpool FC firmly back in control when he netted Liverpool’s 103rd goal of the season under Klopp.
And former England star Butcher was quick to heap praise on Mane following his top display for the Reds against the east London side.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Butcher said: “Sadio Mane gets on the end of great Andrew Robertson cross [for the fourth goal].
“That’s a feature of this side – the full-backs push on and their final ball is very good.
“It is clearly something they work on in training and they are reaping the rewards. It is almost telepathic, instinctive.
“Jurgen Klopp has put together an amazing side.”
Saturday’s win left Liverpool FC in second place in the Premier League table ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Chelsea FC at Old Trafford on Sunday.
