Michael Owen states his prediction for Liverpool FC v West Ham
The Liverpool FC legend is tipping the Reds to beat West Ham United at Anfield on Saturday afternoon
Michael Owen is tipping Liverpool FC to ease to a comfortable win against West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Reds will be looking to cement their position in the top four when the Hammers make the trip to Anfield in the Premier League.
Liverpool FC were 5-0 winners against Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash earlier this month.
The Merseyside outfit are in third place in the Premier League table and two points adrift of Manchester United in second spot.
Liverpool were 4-1 winners against West Ham United at the London Stadium earlier in the season after goals from Mohamed Salah, Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Reds have scored eight goals in their last two meetings with the Hammers despite having struggled against West Ham in their recent meetings at Anfield.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing the Reds to ease to victory despite West Ham’s surprisingly good record on Merseyside in recent seasons.
“West Ham went 45 games without a win at Liverpool before August 2015 but they are unbeaten in their last three ahead of the Hammers’ visit to Anfield,” Owen told BetVictor.
“That said the Reds have scored four in their last two PL games against the Irons and it should be noted that West Ham boss David Moyes is without a win in 14 previous visits to Anfield as a manager with Everton, Manchester United and Sunderland. I cannot see past a home win.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League after a two-season absence.
The Reds signed Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk in a £75m deal from Premier League rivals Southampton last month.
