Gary Lineker salutes Romelu Lukaku after Man United’s 2-1 win over Chelsea FC

Gary Lineker heaped praise on Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian striker played a crucial role in helping Manchester United claim a 2-1 win over Chelsea FC at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Belgian striker has had his fair share of criticism this season despite having scored 20 goals in all competitions before Sunday’s game.
Lukaku, who signed for Manchester United from Everton back in the summer, cancelled out Willian’s opener in the first half with a neat close-range finish.
And Jesse Lingard made it 2-1 to the Red Devils when he headed home in the 75th minute shortly after coming on as a substitute.
Former England star Lineker knows a thing or two about scoring goals in big games, and the ex-Spurs man was clearly impressed by Lukaku’s performance for Jose Mourinho’s men on Sunday afternoon.
Lineker wrote on Twitter after Lukaku’s equaliser: “Lukaku levels things with a finish as neat as it was important for his self belief against the big teams.”
And the England legend added after Lingard’s strike: “Lukaku answering his critics in the best way possible, a goal, and an assist for the ever improving Lingard.”
A goal and an assist is a solid return for Lukaku, who will now be hoping to help continue his form as they bid to enjoy a strong end to the campaign.
Manchester United are next in Premier League action when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday week.
