Antonio Conte warns Chelsea FC about ‘top’ Man United star
The Chelsea FC manager warns his players about Paul Pogba's talent ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash
Antonio Conte believes Paul Pogba will start for Manchester United when Chelsea FC make the trip to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Red Devils will host the defending champions in the top-four clash following a disappointing goalless draw with La Liga side Sevilla in the Champions League last-16 clash.
Manchester United have lost two of their last three Premier League games following defeats at Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur to raise concerns about the Red Devils’ performances.
Pogba, in particular, has been the subject of criticism following the France international’s ineffective performance at St James’ Park and Wembley to result in his premature substitution.
The 24-year-old’s future has been a source of debate in recent months to raise questions about his long-term future at the 20-time English champions amid talk of interest from Real Madrid.
Conte talked up Pogba’s talent ahead of Chelsea FC’s trip to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
“We are talking about a top player, a fantastic player,” Conte told his pre-match media conference at Cobham training ground on Friday afternoon.
“My expectation is to see him on the pitch. If he stays out it will be better.”
Pogba won three Serie A titles under the Italian coach during his stint at Juventus in an £800,000 deal from Manchester United in 2012.
The French midfielder helped the Red Devils to win the Europa League and the League Cup last term.
