Michael Owen states his prediction for Man United v Chelsea FC
The Liverpool FC legend is tipping Manchester United and Chelsea FC to play out a low-scoring game
Michael Owen is tipping Manchester United and Chelsea FC to play out a low-scoring Premier League game at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils will welcome the defending Premier League champions to Old Trafford looking to return to winning ways in the English top flight.
Manchester United have lost two of their last three Premier League games following disappointing losses at Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Jose Mourinho’s received some criticism for a poor performance in a goalless draw with Sevilla in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash in Spain on Wednesday night.
Chelsea FC, meanwhile, squandered a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 with La Liga leaders Barcelona in the home leg of their last last-16 tie at Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Conte’s side were 1-0 winners against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge earlier this season following Alvaro Morata’s second-half winner.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Manchester United and Chelsea FC to play out a low-scoring game at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
“Chelsea will be looking to do the double over Manchester United for the fourth time in Premier League history at Old Trafford, but they were beaten 4-1 at Watford in their last away league game and they remain vulnerable at present despite the brilliance of Eden Hazard and Willian,” Owen told BetVictor.
“I do not expect to see many goals in what promises to be a tight tense affair – on and off the pitch.”
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title with two games to spare last term after finishing seven points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester United won the Europa League and the League Cup under Jose Mourinho last term.
