Charlie Nicholas states his prediction for Man United v Huddersfield
The Arsenal legend is tipping Huddersfield Town to hold Manchester United to a 2-2 draw in the FA Cup fifth round on Saturday afternoon
Charlie Nicholas is backing Huddersfield Town to force a fifth-round replay at Manchester United in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The promoted side will make the trip to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon looking to secure a positive result against an out-of-sorts Manchester United team.
The Red Devils have lost two of their last three Premier League games following defeats at Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United over the past three weeks.
Manchester United lost 2-1 to Huddersfield Town at John Smith’s Stadium earlier in the campaign before a 2-0 victory over David Wagner’s side at Old Trafford earlier this month.
Jose Mourinho is still attempting to figure out how to get the best out of Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez in the same team following the Chile international’s move to Old Trafford in January.
Former Arsenal midfielder Nicholas is backing Huddersfield to secure a 2-2 draw at Manchester United to force a fifth-round replay at John Smith’s Stadium.
“After last Sunday you’ve got to think Huddersfield must fancy a repeat of their victory back in October,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“Jose Mourinho won’t want his side embarrassed twice but they’ve a Champions League tie in Seville midweek to think about.
“Manchester United are going through this dilemma as to how they fit in Alexis Sanchez. They want to give him the free role but that means Paul Pogba can’t have that freedom.”
Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard have gone a bit cold after doing so well, so I can see another dangerous game for United.
Manchester United will make the trip to Spanish side Sevilla in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils won the Europa League and the League Cup under Mourinho in the Portuguese coach’s first season in charge.
