The Liverpool FC legend believes Man United striker Marcus Rashford is a better striker than Romelu Lukaku
Jamie Redknapp has claimed that Marcus Rashford is a better striker than his Manchester United team-mate Romelu Lukaku.
The England international scored 11 times in 53 games in all competitions last term in his first season under Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils signed Lukaku in a £75m deal from Premier League rivals Everton last summer to bolster their attack.
The Belgium international has been an automatic started in Mourinho’s team despite his inconsistent performances.
Lukaku has netted 18 times in 37 games in all competitions this term, while Rashford has netted 10 times in 37 appearances.
The England striker has been restricted to appearances from the bench and has fallen further down the pecking order following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
However, former Liverpool FC captain Redknapp believes Rashford is a better striker than Lukaku despite being out of favour at Old Trafford.
“Is Lukaku a better striker than Rashford? I don’t think so,” Redknapp told The Debate on Sky Sports.
Manchester United lost 1-0 to Newcastle United in the Premier League at St James’ Park last weekend.
The Red Devils returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon after Mourinho’s side eased to a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town thanks to goals from Lukaku either side of half-time.
