Anthony Martial believes that he is hitting top gear for Manchester United after having been named as the club’s player of the month for January.

The French striker was in fine form for the Red Devils as he scored three goals in the Premier League for Jose Mourinho’s men in the top flight last month.

The forward appears to have been earning the trust of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford in recent weeks and he will be keen to hold down a regular spot in the first team moving forwards.

Martial has scored nine goals and made four assists in 24 Premier League games for the Red Devils so far this season, and he will be hoping to help them finish in the top four.

And the 22-year-old will be hoping to help the Red Devils enjoy a successful end to the campaign and end the season on a high.

Speaking to MUTV, Martial said: I feel really good at the moment, I’m training hard and, to be fair, with the matches and results since the new year, we’ve made a decent start, so I hope we can continue in the same vein.

“It’s a real honour for me that the supporters have voted for me. I think now it’s the third time it’s happened this season. I just hope I can keep this run going and maybe even try and win a few more of them!”

Manchester United are currently preparing for their trip to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils are second in the Premier League table as they chase a top-four finish under Mourinho this season.
