Real Madrid star’s agent responds to Man United transfer talk
Gareth Bale's agent says that the attacker has no plans to quit Real Madrid amid talk of a move to Man United
Gareth Bale’s agent has appeared to pour cold water on talk of the Real Madrid star moving to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The Wales international has long been touted as a possible transfer target for the Premier League giants and he was linked with a move to Old Trafford before Bale’s move to Real Madrid from Spurs back in 2013.
Bale’s future at The Bernabeu has been called into question in recent months after he suffered yet another injury during his time with the Spanish side.
It remains to be seen whether there is genuine interest from Manchester United in signing Bale in the summer transfer window.
However, the 28-year-old’s agent has seemingly moved to play down the speculation about Bale’s future by insisting that the Wales attacker is happy at Real Madrid.
Speaking in an interview with Italian outlet Tuttosport, Jonathan Barnett said: “Bale?
“I think he’s worth as much as Neymar. He loves Real Madrid and doesn’t want to leave.
“Gareth does not need Ronaldo to leave Real Madrid, he is already a top star of the club.”
Bale has scored six goals and made one assist in La Liga so far this season but he has only been limited to nine starts in the Spanish top flight.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their FA Cup fifth-round clash against Huddersfield Town on Saturday night after the disappointment of their Premier League loss to Newcastle on Sunday.
