The Daily Record is reporting that Pogba wants to play on the left side of an attacking midfield three, where he feels his influence will be at its greatest.
Pogba has come in for criticism for his performances in recent weeks and Mourinho chose to substitute the midfielder immediately after Manchester United conceded against Newcastle United last weekend.
However, if the report is to be believed, the 24-year-old France international believes that he is being held back by where he is being deployed by Mourinho.
The same story says that Pogba feels that he is being “limited” by the defensive duties he is being asked to carry out by Mourinho at Old Trafford this season.
It is claimed in the article that Mourinho has been “unimpressed” by Pogba’s contribution in a Manchester United shirt since the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal last month.
Indeed, Mourinho has opted not to play the midfielder for the full 90 minutes since Sanchez’s arrival at Old Trafford from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Pogba has scored three goals and made nine assists in 17 Premier League games so far this season.
