Paul Scholes reacts to Man United’s goalless draw with Sevilla
Paul Scholes says it was a case of "job done" for Manchester United in their goalless draw with Sevilla
Paul Scholes believes it was a case of ‘job done’ for Manchester United after their goalless draw with Sevilla in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils failed to threaten the opposition goal much during the first half in what was a largely uninspiring affair.
David De Gea produced a brilliant save to deny Luis Muriel before half time in what was probably the most notable moment of the game.
The Red Devils ended up holding firm and seeing out the draw ahead of the return leg at Old Trafford on 13 March.
Former Manchester United midfielder Scholes feels that the Red Devils did their job well ahead of the all-important return leg next month.
Speaking during BT Sport‘s coverage of the game, Scholes said: “It was a decent away performance.
“When you go away to these grounds it can be tough.
“Some teams try and attack you. You’ve just got to try and stay in the game for the second leg.”
Manchester United will now switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their crunch clash against Chelsea FC at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils are currently in second place in the Premier League table as they look to try and finish in the top four this season in what is Jose Mourinho’s second campaign in charge.
