Man United facing battle to keep Ander Herrera – report
Manchester United are facing a battle to try and keep Ander Herrera this summer, according to reports
Manchester United are facing a battle to keep hold of Ander Herrera as AC Milan plot a summer bid for the midfielder, according to reports in Italy.
Italian outlet Tuttosport, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is claiming that the Serie A giants are plotting a £32m move to try and sign the Spanish midfielder this summer.
The same story says that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants to keep Herrera, but the Portuguese coach has failed to make him a first-team regular following the arrival of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea last summer.
The story says that AC Milan are lining up a £32m move to sign Herrera and that the 28-year-old will want to push for regular first-team football from next season as he enters into the prime years of his career.
However, the same article says that Mourinho would be unlikely to be willing to let Herrera leave the club this summer, with Michael Carrick set to retire at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their FA Cup fifth round clash against Huddersfield Town on Saturday night.
The Red Devils are aiming to try and win the cup this season as they also go for glory in the Champions League.
