Man United want to sign quality Chile star in the summer – report
Manchester United could make a move to sign Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich this summer, say reports
Manchester United will make a move to try and sign Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Manchester Evening News is reporting that Jose Mourinho has decided that he wants to sign the 30-year-old midfielder as part of his midfield revamp ahead of next season.
The same report says that bolstering his midfield options is Mourinho’s priority in the summer as he looks to add to his squad following Michael Carrick’s likely exit at the end of the current campaign.
The story says that Manchester United want “at least one” summer signing in midfield and they have reportedly chosen Vidal as the “ideal” man to bring in.
The article also casts doubt on Marouane Fellaini’s future at Old Trafford, with the Belgian’s current contract set to expire in the summer.
Should Vidal move to Old Trafford, he would link up with his fellow Chile star Alexis Sanchez, who completed his move to Manchester United from Arsenal last month.
The story says that Bayern could be prepared to sell Vidal this summer ahead of Leon Goretska’s arrival at the German club.
The 30-year-old midfielder’s Bayern Munich contract expires in 2019.
