The Red Devils were linked with a move to sign the Brazilian 24-year-old last summer as Jose Mourinho considered bolstering his squad at Old Trafford.
Fabinho’s future has continued to be a source of speculation in recent months and it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will make a move to try and sign the 24-year-old this summer.
He has scored four goals and made three assists in 22 Ligue 1 games for Monaco so far this season and has been a regular fixture in the first team.
Now, his latest comments seem to hint that he could well be considering a move away from the Ligue 1 side at the end of the season.
Speaking to Lancenet, as quoted by Metro, Fabinho said: “My time with Monaco was good, but I feel my time here is coming to an end.
“I know that that the club’s vision is to try to finish second and qualify for the Champions League, without counting on big-name players, but on young players.
“I believe I have gone through this process. I arrived as an unknown, I made my name at the club, won things — but maybe I need a new challenge.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their Premier League trip to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils, who finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term, head into the game looking to build on their 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town at Old Trafford last weekend.
