Man United want to sign 26-year-old with £33m release clause – report
Manchester United are considering a move to sign Jean Michael Seri from Nice this summer, say reports
Manchester United are considering a move to sign Jean Michael Seri from Nice this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils are keen to land the 26-year-old midfielder and that they have been keeping checks on him in recent days.
The same article claims that Manchester United sent a scout to watch Seri in action during Nice’s 3-2 Europa League defeat by Lokomotiv Moscow at the Allianz Riviera on Thursday night.
The story suggests that FC Barcelona have also expressed an interest in signing Seri, who is believed to have a £33m release clause in his contract, in recent months.
Seri has been a regular fixture in the Nice team so far this season, scoring one goal and making three assists in 19 Ligue 1 games for the French side.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly out to significantly bolster his midfield options at Manchester United this summer, with Michael Carrick set to retire at the end of the season.
There are also doubts over Marouane Fellaini’s future at Old Trafford, as Mourinho looks to try and assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next term.
Manchester United travel to Sevilla for the first leg of their last 16 Champions League clash on Wednesday night.
