The Slovakia international has been linked with a potential move to one of Europe’s top clubs following an impressive season at Serie A giants Inter Milan.
La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have both been touted with an interest in the Slovakian starlet ahead of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United could be forced to delve into the transfer market for a centre-half at the end of the 2017-18 season given Victor Lindelof’s disappointing first season at Old Trafford.
England duo Phil Jones and Chris Smalling were criticised for their performance in Manchester United’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Manchester City spent a club record fee on Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte in a £57m deal in the January transfer window.
Skriniar was the subject of an “incredible” offer last month but the 23-year-old opted to remain at the Serie A club.
But the promising centre-half has opened the door to a potential move to Manchester or Spain in the summer.
“I know an incredible offer came in the winter,” Skriniar told Slovakian Daily Sport, as quoted by The Sun.
“I left everything in my agent’s hands. I would have gone had it been for the best. I’m happy with the interest of big clubs, but at the same time I was delighted that Inter decided not to sell.
“I really like Real Madrid and Barcelona but the same applies to the two in Manchester. The Premier League is the most beautiful in the world.”
The Slovakian defender has scored three goals in 24 appearances in Serie A this term.
