Jose Mourinho delivers clear update on Man United summer transfer plans
Jose Mourinho insists he has no plans to sign any more attacking players for Man United this summer
Jose Mourinho has insisted that he has no plans to sign any attacking players for Manchester United in the summer transfer window after landing Alexis Sanchez.
The Red Devils concluded a deal to sign the Chile international from Arsenal as part of the same agreement which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to the north London side.
Sanchez netted his first goal for the Red Devils as Manchester United claimed a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.
However, although the Red Devils could be on the lookout for signings in other departments, Mourinho has insisted that he has no plans to bring in any more attacking players this summer as things stand.
Mourinho is quoted as saying by the Independent: “I say that it’s bad for you because you like to have things to write and speculate, especially in the summer, but I don’t want attacking players so don’t speak about attacking players that are coming here because nobody is coming here.”
Manchester United are currently preparing for their Premier League trip to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils are in second place in the Premier League table and 13 points behind leaders Manchester City as they look to try and get as close to Pep Guardiola’s men as possible.
