Sadio Mane has expressed his delight at the way Liverpool FC have been performing in recent weeks after their impressive 4-1 thrashing of West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Emre Can gave the Reds the lead in the first half at Anfield, before Mohamed Salah made it 2-0 shortly after half-time.

Roberto Firmino then also found the net before Michail Antonio pulled one back for the visitors to make it 2-1.

However, Mane then netted a fourth for Jurgen Klopp’s men as the Reds claimed an important victory to move up into second place in the Premier League table.

Speaking to BBC Sport immediately after the game, Mane said: “Honestly we played very good from the beginning. We scored four goals and created so many chances. We pushed as a team.

“The front three are all lucky boys, the rest of the team give us assists and play well behind so we are lucky.”

Liverpool FC are temporarily in second place but they could drop down a position if Manchester United beat Chelsea at home on Sunday afternoon.

Next up for Liverpool FC is their home clash against Newcastle United at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds are aiming to at least finish in the top four this season, as Klopp looks to try and steer them into a Champions League spot once again.

Liverpool FC have all but booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 5-0 win over FC Porto in the first leg of their last 16 clash.
