Michael Owen states his prediction for Sevilla v Man United
Michael Owen looks ahead to Man United's clash against Sevilla on Wednesday night
Michael Owen is tipping Manchester United to earn a scoring draw in their first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash against Sevilla on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils head into the game looking to get try an progress in Europe’s elite club competition after having struggled for form in the Premier League in recent weeks.
Manchester United warmed up for the game with a 2-0 win over Huddersfield in the FA Cup fifth round on Saturday evening.
However, Jose Mourinho’s men have struggled to perform consistently in the top flight this term and have lost two of their last three games in the Premier League.
Manchester United are currently in second place in the Premier League table as they at least seek a top-four finish in Mourinho’s second campaign in charge.
The Premier League outfit will be hoping for a positive result in the first leg of their last 16 clash against Sevilla on Wednesday night.
And former Red Devils striker Owen is tipping them to claim at least a draw against the La Liga side.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “The first competitive game between the sides and another game where I hope to see goals given the Spanish side have never kept a clean sheet in six previous games in the knockout stages of the competition.
“Sevilla conceded 12 times in their six group games but they showed against Liverpool in both ties in the group stages that they could also score goals.”
Manchester United enjoyed European success last season when they won the Europa League in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge.
