Jose Mourinho delivers update on Ander Herrera ahead of Sevilla v Man United
Jose Mourinho is hopeful that both Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford will be fit for Man United's trip to Sevilla
Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is hoping that both Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford will be fit for Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Sevilla on Wednesday night.
The pair both missed the FA Cup clash against Huddersfield Town on Saturday night due to undisclosed muscular injuries, but it seems that Mourinho is hopeful that they will be back fit in time for the crunch first leg of their Champions League tie in Spain next week.
The Red Devils boss is likely to provide a fresh injury update on the duo in his pre-match news conference on Tuesday evening, but Mourinho has revealed that they do have a chance of being available for the Champions League clash.
Asked whether Herrera and Rashford would be fit for Manchester United’s clash against Huddersfield Town on Friday, Mourinho told a news conference: “No (for Huddersfield), chance (for Sevilla).”
Manchester United will be hoping to replicate their European success from last season and their Europa League triumph when they bid to go as far as possible in the Champions League.
The Red Devils managed to secure qualification for this season’s Champions League thanks to their Europa League win, despite having finished in sixth place in the Premier League in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge.
