Jamie Carragher praised Roberto Firmino for his outstanding performance up front for Liverpool FC in Sunday’s 2-0 win at Southampton.
The Brazil international is under even more pressure to lead the Reds line following Daniel Sturridge’s loan move to West Brom back in the January transfer window.
Firmino has been enjoying his best season to date in a Liverpool FC shirt following a return of 18 goals in all competitions so far this season.
The South American required six minutes to break the deadlock at St Mary’s after Mohamed Salah teed up Firmino edge the Reds into a narrow lead.
The former Hoffenheim forward produced the moment of the Premier League clash when his deft back heel allowed Salah to scored his 22nd league goal of the season.
Ex-Liverpool FC defender Carragher singled out Firmino’s performance for special praise at St Mary’s following an influential performance.

Liverpool FC signed Firmino in a £29m deal from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim in the 2015 summer transfer window under Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers.
