Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Southampton v Liverpool FC
The ex-Reds defender is tipping Liverpool FC to drop points in a 1-1 draw with Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday

Mark Lawrenson believes Liverpool FC will drop points in the top-four race in a 1-1 draw with Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
The Reds are in third place in the table and two points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, who are putting pressure on the top four with 12 games to go.
Liverpool FC were held to a 2-2 draw with Spurs last weekend to miss out on the chance to open up the gap between themselves and fifth-placed Tottenham.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have the small matter of the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 against Porto in Portugal on Wednesday night.
The Merseyside outfit will make the long trip to Southampton to face the Premier League strugglers at St Mary’s on Sunday evening.
Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is anticipating that the Reds will drop points on the south coast in the top-four race ahead of their Champions League tie.
“If you look at Klopp’s teams in the Champions League this season, you could argue they are the strongest he can pick and if that is the case next week, will he be slightly weaker this weekend?” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“It is make your mind up time because a top-four place is far from secure and Liverpool have to keep chugging away in the league too – they could be out of the top four if they drop points in this game.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure a Champions League spot for the first time under Klopp.
The Reds haven’t won the Champions League crown since 2005 when Liverpool FC beat Serie A giants AC Milan in the final in Istanbul.
